A veterinarian who knows your operation
Raising pigs comes with plenty of moving parts. Your veterinary care should help you make sense of them. Dr. Rachel Schulte works with swine producers to identify health concerns, build prevention plans, and make informed decisions that fit their operation.
Whether you’re managing an ongoing health challenge or planning for your next group of pigs, our goal is to be a familiar, dependable part of your team.
Experience That Starts in the Barn
Dr. Schulte brings extensive experience in swine medicine and a hands-on approach to herd health. Understanding your pigs means understanding your operation—from where they come from and how they’re housed to what happens between placement and marketing.
We take time to ask questions, look at the whole picture, and explain our recommendations. You should leave the conversation knowing what we’re seeing, what comes next, and why.
How We Can Help
Herd Visits & Health Evaluations
On-farm visits give us a closer look at your pigs and the conditions affecting their health. We work with you to evaluate concerns, identify patterns, and decide where changes may help.
Diagnostic Testing
When a health problem needs answers, we help determine appropriate testing and coordinate sample submission. We’ll walk through the results with you and discuss what they mean for your herd.
Herd Health & Prevention Planning
A good health plan starts before there’s a problem. We help producers develop vaccination, monitoring, and prevention strategies based on their herd history and production needs.
Treatment & Medication Guidance
We provide veterinary recommendations for treatment and responsible medication use, with clear directions and follow-up as needed. Prescription services are provided within an established veterinarian-client-patient relationship and applicable requirements.
Biosecurity & Incoming Pig Health
New pigs bring new variables. We help evaluate sourcing, movement, and everyday biosecurity practices to identify practical ways to reduce disease risk.
Ongoing Veterinary Support
Herd health is an ongoing conversation. As conditions change, we work with you to review progress, address new concerns, and adjust the plan.
A Working Relationship Built on Communication
You know your operation. We bring veterinary experience and an outside perspective. Together, we can make thoughtful decisions that support animal health and keep your operation moving forward.
